Undercoat a model is the most important process before painting and is need to prime the surface to give good adhesion for paints.
There are two types of undercoat (various Colours) these are cost effective to make top colour last years and the use of can mean only one top coat needed saving money on paints.
Standard Undercoat (Car Primer) often coming in handy aerosol sprays these are cheap and have a small amount of etchant with adheres to model and gives good base for paints. Just Spray on and allow to dry, add top colour paint as required.
Acid Etch primers, these are more expensive but are the rolls royce of undercoats and means the top colour adheres better and with last after handling. Again they come in handy aerosol spray. These allthough cost nearly double they are so good I use much less to undercoat so a can lasts much longer. This is our preferred undercoat for all our painted ranges.
